Surface enhanced NMR spectroscopy by dynamic nuclear polarization.
It is shown that surface NMR spectra can be greatly enhanced using dynamic nuclear polarization. Polarization is transferred from the protons of the solvent to the rare nuclei (here carbon-13 at natural isotopic abundance) at the surface, yielding at least a 50-fold signal enhancement for surface species covalently incorporated into a silica framework.
متن کاملHigh Field Dynamic Nuclear Polarization NMR with Surfactant Sheltered Biradicals
We illustrate the ability to place a water-insoluble biradical, bTbk, into a glycerol/water matrix with the assistance of a surfactant, sodium octyl sulfate (SOS). This surfactant approach enables a previously water insoluble biradical, bTbk, with favorable electron-electron dipolar coupling to be used for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments in frozen...
متن کاملNMR of Insensitive Nuclei Enhanced by Dynamic Nuclear Polarization.
Despite the powerful spectroscopic information it provides, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy suffers from a lack of sensitivity, especially when dealing with nuclei other than protons. Even though NMR can be applied in a straightforward manner when dealing with abundant protons of organic molecules, it is very challenging to address biomolecules in low concentration and/or many oth...
متن کاملReactive surface organometallic complexes observed using dynamic nuclear polarization surface enhanced NMR spectroscopy.
Dynamic Nuclear Polarization Surface Enhanced NMR Spectroscopy (DNP SENS) is an emerging technique that allows access to high-sensitivity NMR spectra from surfaces. However, DNP SENS usually requires the use of radicals as an exogenous source of polarization, which has so far limited applications for organometallic surface species to those that do not react with the radicals. Here we show that ...

We show how (27)Al-(13)C proximities in the microporous metal-organic framework MIL-100(Al) can be probed using advanced (27)Al-(13)C NMR methods boosted by Dynamic Nuclear Polarization.
